San Mateo, CA · Peninsula · Operator-owned fleet

San Mateo charter bus rental from the company that employs the driver.

Our yard is 15 minutes up US-101 in South San Francisco, so San Mateo is effectively our home turf and the deadhead line on your quote is small. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin sitting between you and the operator. The dispatcher who prices the job is the one who sends the driver.

Why it matters who owns the bus

Direct operator vs. national booking marketplace

San Mateo FAQ

Answers from the people who dispatch the buses

How much does a charter bus cost in San Mateo?

A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in San Mateo typically runs $550–$850 including driver. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary. Deadhead from our South San Francisco yard is only about 15 minutes here, which usually shows up as a smaller line on the quote than it would further south.

Which airports do you serve from San Mateo?

San Francisco (SFO, about 8 road miles), Oakland (OAK, about 25 miles over the San Mateo Bridge) and San Jose (SJC, about 30 miles). SFO is close enough that we can hold the coach at our own yard while a flight lands.

Do you run employee shuttles to Foster City campuses?

Yes. Recurring loops between Hillsdale Caltrain, employee lots and the Foster City office parks run on a contract rate, with fixed departures, the same drivers on the route and a live tracking link for your workplace team.

Are you a broker or the actual bus company?

We are the operator. Umbrella Global Bus owns the vehicles, employs the drivers and runs its own dispatch and shop from South San Francisco under CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263, so there is no reseller margin in the number you see.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for the San Mateo County Event Center or a corporate campus?

Yes. We issue the COI directly, usually the same business day, naming the Event Center, hotel or employer as certificate holder with the wording their facilities team requires.

Can a full-size coach handle Highway 92 to Half Moon Bay?

Yes, and we run it regularly. Drivers are briefed on the grade, the turnouts and the coast-side parking that will actually hold a 45-foot coach, and on winter dates we build extra time for fog and slide closures on CA-92.
